Namaste and welcome to another posting for the Quiet Mouse Strikes Back. Today I want to talk about all the mass shootings that have been happening lately. Let's jump down the rabbit hole and see where it takes us, shall we?
The definition of terrorism is: "the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims."
I want to say that NOT every Muslim is a terrorist. NOT every white person is a racist. NOT every colored person is a victim of racism and discrimination, and NOT every person who is murdered is a victim of a hate crime, per se... many are just acts of desperation or lunacy in the case of these psycho shooters. The ONE THING that all murder and terror crimes have in common is PSYCHOSIS... the person(s) who committed the crime(s) was fucking NUTS in some regard. These people must be psycho because even sociopaths have a basic sense of right and wrong, albeit a little skewed from the "norm".
The REAL terrorists are the corporations and war machine profiteers that get lucrative off of the suffering and deaths of innocents. The REAL terrorists are insurance companies that would rather you die than pay for your medical care. The REAL terrorists are those who withhold cures for cancer and other diseases because the medical industry is worth BILLIONS to keep people sick and dying while the big bosses make a profit. The REAL terrorists are people "just doing my job" while inciting hate and dissent. For example the wars waged against the homeless, peaceful protesters, and non-violent marijuana smokers.
Although death is a necessary part of life, I hate hearing in this country about the atrocities of guns and how they should be taken away every time some psycho shoots up the place. Taking away the rights of innocents is an act of terrorism, especially when our tactically trained, heavily armed police are gonna show up at your door to FORCE you to comply with asinine laws that are created by the very same sons of bitches that voted or decided to send our family members to war in distant lands under false premises. THESE people are the REAL terrorists. Pushing citizens to act out in a violent manner is almost always a product of a failed system. Mental health needs to be given more consideration and attention and not just be another for-profit system to be exploited. Violence only begets more violence and evil only begets more evil. Fighting a war against the citizens of this nation, or any nation really; to deny or take away civil liberties is the quintessential definition of terrorism.
Rogue governments that are no longer accountable to "We the people..." acting autonomously for their OWN benefit and self preservation are the problem.
We can bullshit about what is "fair" all day til the sun goes down, but it doesn't mean shit because the power of the military-industrial-war machine doesn't play fair. They write the laws, they make the rules. They are, however, deathly afraid of the people, the average citizens. They DO answer to us, we just have to take some of the power back into our own hands. We must PARTICIPATE in the process and rise to the challenge of electing leaders that genuinely care about the welfare of this nation and it's people AND are accountable to the people, for good or bad.
EMPATHY is the answer. We have to start caring for one another as citizens. THIS is why we have so many people losing their minds and committing crimes of hate and prejudice. Innocents suffer and die every day around the world, but we all lose our minds here when some psycho does what psychos do. Killers kill, that's what they do. If more focus was put on the mental health and well being of this person, then perhaps we wouldn't keep having these crazy fuckers shoot up and murder innocents. Taking away the rights of others isn't the solution, but having empathy and fixing the broken system will. There are many many people who are concerned and committed to helping make a change. Don't be afraid of the change, it is inevitable.
Also, gun control is really just control of the masses, because right, wrong, or otherwise, guns are the ONLY thing that keep the powers in check for the masses. Without guns there would be NOTHING to stop the powerful governments and corporate interests from taking away ALL of your civil liberties. That's why this country has been great to it's people, because we have the right to defend ourselves from enemies both foreign and domestic. Don't give away your freedoms just because some asshole like Obama says to. Don't give away your freedoms out of fear of some random psychopath that shot up a place. Yes, it hurts and I feel for the families of the victims, but don't misplace the anger and frustration onto the guns. Again, the fault lies in this broken system that has failed us all, but it has especially failed those who needed medical attention and mental health treatment. You can only push people so far, and unfortunately some break more easily than others, often acting out in a violent manner.
